Social Security Information

Social Security was signed into law by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1935 and is a series of social welfare programs that include, among others, Medicare, Medicaid, retirement and unemployment benefits, and disability insurance. Social Security makes up more than 20 percent of the federal budget and is the most universal government entitlement plan.
